If Humanity Disappeared

If humanity were to disappear and Earth continued its evolution without our presence, several names could be proposed for the next geological era, depending on what might dominate the planet after our disappearance. Some ideas that have emerged among scientists, philosophers, and futurists include:

Biocene: An era in which nature regains complete control of the planet, regenerating and adapting without human interference. Biodiversity could experience a new evolutionary explosion, similar to what happened after previous mass extinctions.

Neozoic: A term that could apply if a new era of dominant fauna emerges after human disappearance, perhaps with species evolving to occupy the niche we once held.

Silentcene: An era of silence, without the industrial and technological noise that characterized the Anthropocene. It would be a time when nature returns to a more pure balance.

Posthumanozoic: A straightforward name indicating an era following the existence of Homo sapiens, marked by the residual
